A single-storey Sydney house typically demolishes for $18,000–$35,000 including waste removal. Double-storey, slab-on-ground or asbestos-heavy homes push toward the top of that range and past it.
The three price movers: asbestos (assessment first, licensed removal priced per m²), access (tight streets slow trucks down), and what’s under the house (a buried pool or oversized footings add days).
Ask every demolisher the same three questions: is asbestos assessment included, is the slab included, and are tip fees inside the price? Those three answers explain almost every gap between quotes.
Rule of thumb: if a quote looks cheap, check whether tip fees, compaction and certification are in it. That’s where the “extras” hide.
